Avatar: The Last Airbender – Sozen’s Comet

This seems like the year nothing can go wrong… I mean Hollywood wise…
After Iron Man, a somewhat more successful The Incredible Hulk, the magnificently brilliant extravaganza The Dark Knight, one of the best Pixar movies, infact THE best animated feature till date WALL-E, and now we have Avatar!

I seriously believe the finale could have made a good movie (it did… but I mean in theater)…

I had been hoping from long… and have perhaps been quite vocal about it… I always hoped that they would use Book 3 to set up things for an entire season of confrontation… one that would end with the defeat of the Fire Lord and bring balance to the world…
They managed to do all that magnificently in just 4 episodes!

If you still haven’t seen it.. I feel sorry for you!

Sozen’s Comet has some of the BEST action you have seen yet in any episode to date! But that is not it… It manages to couple this very well with the internal conflicts that the characters are bound to face, and adds to it the drama and character development that have always made the show popular…

I hope this isnt the end of avatar… they can do sooo much more…

I remember just around… one year ago?
When I first introduced avatar to people… I got the first few episodes… and never even watched them! I though there is anough anime in the world.. no need for a cheep imitation…
What I learned after I started watching Avatar is that the world is a mixture of influences… some are good influences and some are bad (beyblade… seriously?!!)… but everything we create is influenced somewhat by something we have experienced and liked… and we shouldnt let influences decide how something might be, we should explore on our own…

This series may have ended, but I am sure they can make another ‘volume of books’…
this one was The Last Airbender, then next one can be about bringing back the airbender, because without them… has balance really been restored?
So I am all in for Avatar: Airbenders Galore …

Caprica Update

If you are a fan of Battlestar Galactica… theres is a good chance that you have heard about Caprice (probabily from me only)..
Anyway for those of you who dont know or remember….
Caprica is a spin-off series of BSG… It will deal with a time before the cylon war, it will kind of be a sci-fi family drama, that centers around two families, the Adamas (famous from the BSG series) and the Graystones family, and the events that lead to the creation of the cylons and the events that finally lead to the destruction of the 12 colonies…

Well… initially it was proposed that the series would start with a backdoor pilot… like for BSG, where they would start with a 2hr movie that leads in to the series… furthermore the series was to start this fall…

However it appears now that they might just start it off as a regular series… which means for one that it probabily wont start till next year! Damn!! I thought with BSG on hiatus, and caprica around the corner… there would be atleast some BSG drama I would get to see!

Besides that.. some more information has also been reveald of this shows nature…
For one it will not involve a lot of space travell… It will be centered around caprica itself.

As the creator Ronald D. Moore says…

“’Caprica’ is a different animal, It’s about a vibrant society that is at the height of its power and the height of its decadence. It’s going to come apart. It’s sort of like a roller coaster.”

The technological emphasis of this show will be on Artificial Intellegence which is a technology that will be new for the world he creates, and space travell will take the back seat, as an existing technology that need not be highlighted…
