Wassup!… like… recently – 3

You might have guessed it already…. but I recently saw Iron Man… And it… was… AWESOME!
A unique blend of action, some drama, and comedy… all in the right proportion… none of which are overdone!
So naturally I started to follow, even more deeply, news about Iron Man 2…
And here it is (most of it is actually quite recent):

• Favreau, wants very much to have ‘War Machine’ in the second film… There was actually a hint to this in the first film itself.. when Rhodey looks at the older suit and says something like ‘next time baby’ Now for those who dont know.. ‘War Machine’ is basically Rhodey (the military guy who’s a friend of Stark), with the older suit! Awesome isnt it!
• Happy Hogan (who is Stark’s chauffer, and is actually played by Favreau himself I think) will have more of a role…
• The Mandarin, is going to be the major villian of the trilogy (yes trilogy!) He is the one in the background controlling things…
• He will complicate the character’s personal stories, but keep the main plot plain, simple, and fun… basically he doesnt want to go down the The Dark Knight path, as he says…
• He realizes that the main battle of Iron Man wasnt ’spectacular’, and will rectify that in the sequel…
• Finally he see’s the trilogy as a more connected plot… as he says.. more like LOTR, and less like spiderman…
• Also… he wants to… if possible, and allowable by his budget, to make the film in 3D!

Also whats new…
I mentioned earlier about Spiderman 4 and 5… and it appears, that both Raimi and Tobey are in… that’s about all…
And some of Transformers… i kopy-pasted this from rottentomatoes… please have mercy on my soul…

- Not just green, some of the vehicles are red and yellow

Well…
I have been quite busy recently… learning some PHP by directly jumping in the middle of it!
I had this idea a loong time ago… as some of you might know… of making an online book trading system for the Drishtant website… and I always shrugged off learning PHP because I had nothing to do with it.. no project… So I decided… this is it… i’m gonna make this piece of shit… And I did!.. Well not exactly.. I mean it’s not complete, mostly done, but not complete, I’ll put it up online most probabily by Sunday.. maybe only before that…
It is basically a ‘plugin’ for joomla, which runs the website now…
What is does is:
It allows you list all the books that you have, and it allows you to browse through all the books that other people are sharing.
But you cannot see who own’s which book…  when you click on the borrow button, a request to borrow the book is sent to the owner of the book.
The owner of the book can now see who wants to borrow it, and approve or deny your request, based on whether he/she is comfortable lending the book to said person…
If the request is approved, the owner can just give the book to whoever wanted it.. and if it is denied…
Well then nothing… The ‘requester’ wont find out who owned the book…
In a close society like Drishtant… it may be difficult to actually make sure noone knows who owns which book, but still… this system is useless over long distances anyway…

Sequels and Reboots of the week…

They have become a weekly affair nowdays haven’t they?

Not a week goes by that i dont hear of some new TV series, or movie, or even game being reboot… makes you wonder how much time it’ll take for the concept to leak into books!

Well anyway…

Reboots:

Superman.. as stated before.. is being rebooted.. so whats new? Well.. for one, Mark Miller is interested in making a trilogy of around 7 hours (why 7? just cause it’s a ‘magical’ number?!)… He wants in in the LOTR format.. i.e. one movie a year… Well that has to be good! Less waiting… Altough nothing is firm… if everything goes well.. shooting will probabily begin by next year!

TMNT:

There were some rumors about a live action reboot of TMNT… but those were shot down… for now there are planns of a TMNT animated reboot… but i’m not really sure… Especially since the animated series was recently rebooted (2003 i think) and all..

Sequels:

Well Spiderman for one! It seems Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are already lined up, and will be filming Spiderman 4, and 5 concurrently! I seriously think they would have been better off splitting up spiderman 3 into 2 parts! They introduced too many ting and werent able to do justice to all of it… Lets hope they dont do that again… Also they threw a hint as to who the villain may be by saying that once we know the villian was we’ll also know who plays the part… This points to someone already introduced as a character but not as a villain… So guess away…

Also despite noir being all the rage now.. with The Dark Knight and all… they will be doing the spiderman movies pretty much as the last three, as they say… Spiderman doesnt have a dark side he is struggling with… Maybe they’re right… You cant imagine Peter Parker taking on The Joker… You can imagine him running back into his highschool closet.. locking himslef up and crying in a pool of is own pee though…

The Superman reboot will however be of a much darker tint.

Ghostbusters:

Ghostbusters 3 is on the way! (A long way.. but whatever..) For those who used to watch the cartoons (I myself loved the old cartoons. but am also a fan of Extreeme Ghostbusters) this is sure to be good news… Especially since they will probabily feature the same cast!

Up for sale recently on eBay, is a role in Spiderman 4!
Considering that the script hasnt even been started yet… And that there is no director or actors attached… And there isnt even a guarantee it will be made at all… It seems like a pretty weird bargain!
The money from the sale will go to charity..

Uncomfortably Long Silences.. and Bats

Wow… that was an uncomfortably long online silence…

And for what? For something that transcends boundaries of blogs, and space and time, and movies, and tv, and internet, and like.. whatever…
I had to eat….

As you may well know… food is known to incite Epiphanies… as was my case…

I just realized… The Dark Knight is Fucking Brilliant!!!

I know what you’ll say… “WE KNOW THAT DICKWART!!”
But do you know that NO comic book movie adaptation has had a successful trilogy?
NOW couple that with my previous statement and add “Batman Begins was bloody Awesome!” and throw a big BUT in (I like big BUT’s and I cannot lie… by pain of death) and add what you just found out…

I’ll just spell it out for those of you who cant take a decent challenge…

“Batman Begins was bloody Awesome, The Dark Knight is Fucking Brilliant BUT NO comic book movie adaptation has had a successful trilogy?”

What does this mean? You leave it all up to me to interpret…

This means basically that with the highly successful first movie, a second movie that beat all the hype (beat it, burnt it, buried it and defecated on its remains), how impossible is the task now to out do the previous two? (hey that rhymes!!)

FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE… STOP!!! DO NOT CONTINUE READING… INTENSE SPOILERS LIE AHEAD!!!

While I am still to actually review The Dark Knight… (my post about it being just a written thought) I am sure there is no doubt in your mind that the movie is difficult to outdo…
With a villain this successful it is difficult to build up the drama even further in a next film…

It is still unclear whether there even will be a third film… Most opening have been closed… there is no romantic angle as Rachael Dawes is dead… no emotional angle as Harvey Dent is apparently dead (I don’t mean he IS.. just that if there isn’t a third movie he might as well be)… Batman is an outcast… and what not…

Looking by past experience alone lets see…

Superman 1: Good	Superman 2: Nice	Superman 3: Tie a rope around my neck and drag me 10 miles through a boiling lava lake BAD
Spiderman 1:Lovely	Spiderman 2: Awesome	Spiderman 3: The closest one to break the curse… was a commercial success but a failure otherwise… it was poorly received by fans
Batman(Original): Good	Batman Returns: Equally Good	Batman Forever: Tear my eyeballs out PLEEEEASE! (I wont even mention the name of the fourth film titled batman and Robin)
X-Men 1: Amazing	X-Men 2: Superb	X-Men 3: Why???

That is why I think there should be a third movie!!

NOW I fucking confused you didn’t I!!! Admit it!!

The reason is simple… They (The Nolan brothers) are the only ones capable of pulling it off!!
Now although he isn’t signed on for the 3rd movie… Who in their right mind would change it to someone else?
Unlike last time there is no direct pointer in this one as to who the villain may be for the next film…
which means that either it is very obvious… or not yet decided… or is going to be a surprise…

with various hints about the riddler… so far as there being a rumor of a deleted scene showing Reese’s hand picking up a photo of Bruce Wayne and putting a question mark on it…

There is also a hint about cats in the movie in a conversation between Fox and Wayne… But frankly I believe that the best villain would be our very own two-face… declared undead… I mean ‘not dead’!
